Why would God want a judgment day in this world?
Because some people’s actions are much better than others.
At the moment God is obviously in a state of halfway supporting human life. Both the sky and the ground give life and take it away. Human beings lose their lives everyday because of this current relationship with God.
What evidence is there in the bible that God will change His ways?
Jesus gave an interesting quote in Matthew 24:30. There He said, Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and beat their breasts and lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Jesus is referring to Daniel 7:13 with this word. There Daniel says, I saw in the night visions, and behold, on the clouds of the heavens came One like a Son of man, and He came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him.
This word refers to Jesus as the Son of Man and God as the Ancient of Days.
This quote by Jesus shows the worldview of Jesus very well. He treats Daniel as an authority. It also says there is a sign of the Son of man. He says people all over the world are supposed to be able to see this sign. What is the sign Jesus is referring to?
The best way to answer that is to look at other relevant bible verses to this issue and coordinate them together. Isaiah 52.7 says the watchmen start to celebrate because they believe they are about to see the return of Jesus face to face. What caused them to celebrate? Isaiah says they see somebody use the bible to publish peace. Jesus said a nazarite will come and get things restored and ready. The words right before Daniel 7:13 say there is a man called a little horn who is saying great words which caused God to act.
When these words are combined, you have a nazarite playing the role of the little horn. You also have him coordinating some great words of the prophets which were specifically made for him.
This specific act produces the sign. So there is strong evidence there is such a thing as a sign. The word of Jesus is good.
The bible shows that God does not respect people who walk on by when little ones are being killed.
How should somebody approach the bible in order to have a favorable opinion of it? Give God credit for using the bible to produce evidence people receive forgiveness for their sins, can be raised from the dead, and intervening against murder.
The book of Exodus shows the Egyptians were doing this. Then the firstborn of the Egyptians were removed by God during the Passover.
Then the Canaanites were conquered by the Jews because they were killing their little ones as well.
Jeremiah shows the Jews were acting as poorly as the Egyptians and Canaanites. He says the Jews set up a place to kill little ones in the valley of Hinnom. The Babylonians came and conquered them. A different way of punishing the perpetrators, but the reason was the same as with the Egyptians.
These events show time and time again the same fact. God does not respect people who walk on by when little ones are killed. This is viewed by God as an attack against Himself.
Human beings do many good things. But their ability to walk on by when little ones are killed is a death sentence in the bible. This explains why God is choosing to only partially support human life at this time.
Biblical figures all say there will be a new sky and a new earth. They say one day God will someday have a more peaceful relationship with people.
God began creating evidence of a day of judgment with original biblical figures.
Moses prophesied about it. He said one day somebody would charge around the world like a bull in Deuteronomy 33. This accurately describes a person who is preparing the world for a judgment at the end of the age. His word here requires biblical prophets to come and prepare a way for this role to be played.
Moses gave a similar blessing on Joseph to the one given by his father Jacob. The one given by Moses was given hundreds of years after Joseph died, so he is talking about somebody else.
Here is the word of Moses on Joseph in Deuteronomy 33:13-17. 13 Blessed by the Lord be his land, with the precious gifts of heaven from the dew and from the deep beneath that couches beneath, 14 With the precious things of the fruits of the sun and with the precious yield of the months, 15 With the chief products of the ancient mountains and with the precious things of the everlasting hills, 16 With the precious things of the earth and its fullness and the favor and goodwill of Him Who dwelt in the bush. Let these blessings come upon the head of Joseph, upon the crown of the head of him who was separate and prince upon his brothers. Like a firstling young bull his majesty is, and his horns like the horns of the wild ox; with them he shall push the peoples, all of them, to the ends of the earth.
This great word by Moses is fulfilled at the end of the age when the man with the little horn appears before God in Daniel 7 and prompts God to intervene against murder of the biblical Jews and gentile followers of Jesus.
Both Moses and Isaiah in chapter 18 gave a good description of the land the little horn is from.
Jacob also spoke words of a judgment day just before the Messiah returns in Genesis 49:9 when he described the Messiah as a crouching lion poised to prey upon the wicked.
Look close and see they all say as well there will be a day of decision. Not everybody in the world is allowed to transition for these times of trouble to the better world in the future.
The question then becomes what does a person have to do to survive to see the return of Jesus.
Joel 2:31-32 says there will be a day of the Lord. What is Joel writing about? There he says, The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. And whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered and saved.
What does it mean to call upon the name of the Lord?
I would say to give God credit for using the bible to produce evidence of a Messiah, people are raised from the dead and can receive forgiveness for their sins. They also should want God to crush killing in and out of the womb.
The first part of biblical prophecy produced evidence Jesus was the Messiah, people are raised from the dead and can receive forgiveness for their sins.
The choice vine, as Jacob calls it, is an overthrow of killing in and out of the womb.
If a person did a good job of calling upon the name of the Lord, they would respect God for doing these great deeds which ensure people will prosper in their relationship with God for all time.
What happens to a person who fails the heed the easy to love instructions of the biblical prophets?
Jesus says they will be weeping and gnashing their teeth. He also says the survivors will take their possessions and life will move on without them.
Paul says they will be raised from the dead but separate from God.
John the Baptist speaks in parables. He talks of them as if they were put into a fire.
All of these things, taken together, represent biblical truth on this matter.
I am not a person who would agree to play a role for God where somebody I knew burnt in hell.
God could burn away some great experiences from somebody. If they were separate from God and Jesus, as Paul says, they could live a rote existence. I know God and Jesus to always be doing something interesting and unforeseen. Being seperate from God means they would not live this exciting of a life as I have.
It also means separation from the One who created orgasms. It is not a good idea to seek separation from the One who likes people so much He gifted their bodies with this great pleasure.
Separation from God can also mean not seeing babies, as they are not capable of attacking God.
This view of hell fulfills the view of Jesus, John and Paul. No one is literally put into a blazing fire. Instead, it is some great experiences which were burnt away.
Thinking this way makes me able to play a role where a lot of people get separated from God and Jesus.
Why should anybody believe in this when it has not happened already?
Technology is a huge factor in biblical strategy. Isaiah 18 shows a biblical figure gives a final warning to the entire world from one of the most powerful countries in the world.
This scripture could not be fulfilled in primitive times. No one in the world would know he was doing it because the technology needed to play this role was not around yet.
Jesus said no one knows what year is the last one of the age. He is right because the final words of the bible before God shows up do not give that away. They do something greater than knowing the year.
They show God cared enough to warn that He created a lot of peculiar words which when suddenly fulfilled create a final warning.
The action of these peculiar statements creates an act of support for those who have been murdered.
A good biblical teacher should stay focused on these last two points so they show God and Jesus are worth following.
They should not be running ahead and talking about things that have not happened yet. They should use solid and easy to prove biblical reason.
Somebody who builds a script which supports those who have been murdered is worth caring about.
Why has there not been a day of the Lord yet? What has changed so it can happen?
The way Jesus fulfills the requirements of being the Messiah is a huge factor. The construction of the Messiah in the bible comes in two parts. The biblical prophets say Jesus must be a Branch to David.
David prophesied the Messiah would be killed in the psalms. So when Jesus was crucified the first time He was here He fulfilled a the first part of becoming a Branch to David.
David also said in Psalm 139 God knits life in the womb. David also crushed those who attacked the Jews.
At present, David is under attack. Killing those in the womb and killing Christians and Jews are both attacks on David.
The last group of prophetic statements that cause God to judge are an attack against abortion and the killing of biblical people. So when they happen, Jesus has completed the need of being a Branch to David.
When this momentous act takes place, the day of the Lord is set to happen.
This two part messianic strategy is why the day of the Lord doesn’t happen but then suddenly it can.
Psalm 20 shows David is very aware of this strategy. There he glorifies the biblical figure who petitions God to end this murderous assault against his existence.
Amos describes the last day of this age period well.
describe God’s current relationship with people
Why is this happening?
compare what happened in Egypt to Jeremiah’s time
show Amos
quote Jesus, Isaiah
show how the creation of peculiar statements produces a warning
this is the strange act Isaiah wrote about
this is big evidence it will happen
