More people need to realize the important role being played by the father of John the Baptist. Here is a quote he gave immediately when John the Baptist was born. At the end of the quote we will look at the important value of his quote. His statement is found at the end of Luke 1.
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has come and brought deliverance to His people! And He has raised up a Horn of salvation for us in the house of David His servant-This is as He promised by the mouth of His holy prophets from the most ancient times in the memory of man-That we should have deliverance and be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who detest and pursue us with hatred; To make true and show the mercy and compassion and kindness promised to our forefathers and to remember and carry out His holy covenant, That covenant He sealed by oath to our forefather Abraham: To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our foes, might serve Him fearlessly in holiness and righteousness within His presence all the days of our lives. And you, little one, shall be called a prophet of the Most High; for you shall go on before the face of the Lord to make ready His ways, to bring and give the knowledge of salvation to His people in the forgiveness and remission of their sins. Because of and through the heart of tender mercy and loving kindness of our God, a Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit us to shine upon and give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct and guide our feet in a straight line to the way of peace.
This certainly sounds like a statement given by a man who deserves to be in charge of the Jews as he includes his son instead of throwing him out. This is important since many people outside of the Jews regard John as a prophet. Zachariah can help produce between the Jews an the others. It also should be noted that this statement by Zachariah has not been completely fulfilled since many Jews are still being killed in these days. For that reason, it needs to be placed on the choice vine Jacob referred to in Genesis 49. He said there this choice vine causes the return of Jesus when it is activated.
