Technology is of critical importance to the fulfillment of the strategy of the bible. This is true for numerous reasons. The lack of technology in the world is the foremost reason a believer can use to defend their belief in a messiah that has not been seen for nearly 2000 years. When Jesus was here, very few people who were around at the time knew of His existence due to the lack of technology at the time. The current situation is much different due to the miraculous forms of communication around today. Now, because of the technology everyone here could here Him speak live from anywhere in the world. There are other reasons besides the lack of technology a believer in Jesus can use to defend their belief in Him despite His absence. For example, people who attend church on a regular basis obviously have a much lower rate of causing problems for the police than those who use mind altering substances. The other day my cousin, who is a Chicago police officer was involved in a wild gunfight. A man was riding his bike near downtown and he decided to randomly shoot a woman in the back. The police did a good job of using video to learn where he lived and showed up at his door a few days later. A few moments later, the assailant was laying prone on the ground with his pants pulled down and several new holes in his body. This is much more likely to happen to a guy who is using drugs and has rejected a relationship with God.
The need for a miraculous change in technology is evident in the words of the biblical prophets as well. Isaiah says in chapter 18 woe to the land of whirring wings. In this chapter, Isaiah is looking way into the future of a time where the world is facing an impending judgment from God where many people could suddenly lose their life due to their perverted ways. What does Isaiah mean, by his use of the term whirring wings. There are only two possibilities, since only birds and planes have wings. But birds do not make a loud whirring sound like planes do. Nor is there any reason to associate birds with terrible, woeful events. Thousands of people have died here in disastrous events in the air. There is no other answer than to say Isaiah associates the fulfilment of biblical strategy to a time well past the first coming of Jesus. This puts the fulfillment of biblical strategy well past the primitive days when the qu’ran was written, which took place about 1400 years ago.
